Troop 71 Scout Service Hour Register

Posted on Apr 13 2021 - 7:46am

Doing service projects together is one way that Scouts keep their promise “to help other people.” While a Scout should do their best to help other people every day, a group service project is a bigger way to help people. While you’re giving service, you’re learning to work together with others to do something that’s good for your community. Service is often required for rank advancement and many merit badges. Service project opportunities must be pre-approved by the Scoutmaster before you begin. If you see Service Projects in the weekly E-Blast, on the Troop website or Facebook, approval has been granted. Working on an Eagle Project also counts for service.

To update our process for tracking service and to minimize risk due to COVID-19 or loss of paperwork, we ask Scouts to fill out the linked Service Registration form after completion of the service project day so that we can be sure to log this service for their Rank and Merit Badge requirements.
